The Ghost Inside Offer Update on Recovery Following Bus Crash
Published Dec 01, 2015On November 19, California metalcore unit the Ghost Inside were involved in a serious highway collision between their tour bus and an 18-wheeler near El Paso, TX. While the band and crew members all survived, the bus driver and truck driver were killed in the accident. All ensuing tour dates were cancelled while the band recovered in hospital.
Now the Ghost Inside have released a new statement, offering their condolences to the families of the deceased and sharing an update on the group members' recovery process and the future of the band.
In a Facebook post, they explained that members were dealing with an array of "serious injuries" ranging from broken legs to cracked pelvises to fractured vertebrae that require "screws, plates, rods and careful surgery to repair" — and that although many of those procedures have already been completed successfully, most of the guys are still in hospital. They note that the road to recovery will be a long one with lot of rehabilitation and physical therapy to come, and as a result, band duties will be taking a backseat so they can "focus only on our health."
The statement goes on to express gratitude to fans for contributing to the Gofundme campaign that was started in support of the band following the crash, ending with: "Thank you for standing with us when we cannot stand on our own."
