'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' Is Ending
Ellen DeGeneres has shared that the forthcoming 19th season of her eponymous talk show will be its last. The final episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show will air in spring 2022.

DeGeneres will discuss the decision with Oprah Winfrey on tomorrow's episode (May 13). Ahead of time, the host told The Hollywood Reporter, "When you're a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged — and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it's just not a challenge anymore."

News of The Ellen DeGeneres Show's end comes nearly a year after program executives were accused of harbouring a "toxic" work environment.

Acknowledging the allegations in a letter written to staff, DeGeneres wrote that she was "committed to ensuring this does not happen again," which she reiterated in launching her 18th season last September.

Following WarnerMedia's investigation, three top executive producers were fired from the show. In March, it was reported that The Ellen DeGeneres Show's viewership had lost a million viewers on average following the allegations.

Looking ahead to the future, it isn't too late to see if Eric Andre is available to host.
