Published Nov 05, 2018As is the case every year in Vancouver, local label Mint Records is reminding us the holidays are just around the corner by announcing its annual Christmas show.
This year, though, the label is changing things up and rebranding the previously dubbed Ridiculously Early Xmas Party as the Mint Records Mandatory Holiday Function and Awards Show. So yes, the show is indeed mandatory, and you must attend, according to Mint.
The party will take place on December 1 at Vancouver's Astoria. Featured at the show will be Mint acts Dumb, lié, Faith Healer (solo), Needles//Pins, Woolworm, Energy Slime, Kellarissa and Necking.
This year will also mark "the first (and quite possibly very last) presentation of The Minties," a Mint Records' award show hosted by Ben Lai (Shindig!, CiTR's Radio Thunderbird Hell).
The press release adds, "The night will be a non stop display of glitz and glamour so make sure to dust off your cummerbund and diamonds and aim your limo at the opulent ballroom of the Astoria Hotel. An evening not to be missed, you'll be rubbing elbows and watching sets from the biggest stars of Team Mint!"
As always, the first 50 concertgoers through the door will received a gift bag filled with goodies from Mint, Neptoon Records, Red Cat Records, Audiopile, Nemesis Coffee and Six Cent Press.
Proceeds from the party will go to support Girls Rock Camp Vancouver, Good Night Out Vancouver and Vancouver Urban Native Youth Association.
Advance tickets, which will set you back only $10, are available at Red Cat Records and Neptoon Records, as well as online here at Brown Paper Tickets.
