Published Oct 16, 2019Regarded as innovators in their respective genres, Lee "Scratch" Perry and Brian Eno have now joined forces for a new track.
The pair collide on "Here Come the Warm Dreads," a dub rework of "Makumba Rock" that appeared on Perry's Rainford album that arrived earlier this year. Of course, the song's title is a play on Eno's 1974 album Here Come the Warm Jets.
"Here Come the Warm Dreads" is set to appear on Heavy Rain, a dub companion album to Rainford from Perry and co-producer Adrian Sherwood that will see release December 6 through On-U Sound.
"When we approached Brian about working on a track he didn't hesitate and said he would happily do something with Lee Scratch Perry," Sherwood explained in a statement. "We worked together on a quick dub version of the track and took what was a crazy tune even further out there. I have always wanted to do something with Brian and hopefully there will be more opportunity in the future."
